Jessica Hanna, Pharm.D.
Jessica was born and raised in Leamington, Ontario. She studied Biochemistry and Biological Sciences at University of Windsor and went on to get her Doctor of Pharmacy from Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan. A former manager of a large Leamington big-box pharmacy, Jessica was tired of the corporate red tape and eventually she and her husband Lamar opened their own independent pharmacies in Sarnia, ON. Overall Jessica has 17 years experience in the pharmacy industry and has been a top practitioner in her field. Jessica is now back home in Essex County where she will raise her family and plans to continue giving back to the community she adores through Kingsville’s Main Street Pharmacy & Wellness Centre
Jessica enjoys donating her time, as well as funds, by serving on different local charitable committees such as the Syrian Refugee committee, volunteering with Canadian Blood Services and volunteering with local churches and soup kitchens. Her pharmacies have also hosted several charity BBQ’s raising thousands of dollars (and awareness) for different local charities and causes such as Cystic Fibrosis Canada. As a result of her philanthropic footprint as well as becoming known to provide top quality care to her clients, Jessica and her husband were the recipients of The Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Customer Service Award for 2016. They also won the very prestigious "business of the year" award for 2017. Now, back in Essex County, they plan to do the same in the town of Kingsville.
Individually, Jessica has won several awards for her clinical knowledge and was even published as a primary author in a national medical journal while still in pharmacy school at the age of 25. She has taught courses at Wayne State School of Pharmacy and Lambton College, and has been a guest speaker at TV Cogeco in Sarnia numerous times as well.
Jessica’s motto is “we only have one life to GIVE” and she plans to do a lot of her charitable work in Kingsville and surrounding areas. She will make it her personal duty to ensure the pharmacy gives back to Kingsville, a place the majority of her family calls home. In fact, even before opening, Main Street Pharmacy & Wellness Centre was a silver sponsor for Family Respite Services Brunch en Blanc 2017.
Jessica also is a mother of 2 young children which has made her much more conscious of the products and foods her family is consuming. In addition, her husband Lamar experienced a health scare back in 2014 which further warranted a healthy lifestyle change. As a result, Jessica and her husband have taken a large interest in an organic and natural living lifestyle while still practicing allopathic medicine that was instrumental in saving her husband's life. This was what helped give birth to the Wellness Centre combined with a walk-in clinic as well as extra clinical pharmacy services. Being a county girl herself, Jessica knows how much these services are needed in Kingsville the surrounding areas and she is overjoyed that she can bring this quality care to such an amazing town!
